Volunteers help Bridging fulfill our mission in the community, and every year, thousands of people and businesses donate their time to support local households in need. With multiple individual and group opportunities available, there are many ways that you can help the families and children that walk through our doors. Come in once a week or a couple times a month...flexible and meaningful opportunities are available. Individual volunteers assist during all hours of operation, Monday through Saturday. There are no Sunday or evening shifts. Select from a variety of departments and offer up your talents and skills:

New volunteers attend a 30-minute introduction tour prior to their first day of service to learn more about the needs, program and open opportunities. Volunteers must be 14 years of age or older and provide a minimum of 20 service hours over six months.

You and your colleagues, neighbors and friends can immediately impact a family in need! Bridging needs your help with the following projects:
Opportunities Include:
Groups of 5 – 25+ are invited to lend a hand and must be scheduled in advance. Projects are typically three hours in length and take place Monday through Thursday between 1:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. Additional shifts are available Friday and Saturday between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. There are no evening or Sunday opportunities. Please note that all opportunities take place in a warehouse setting, and volunteers must be 14 years of age or older with or without an adult.

Provide a new dresser for families and individuals in need. For many, a dresser is a piece of furniture that is traditionally used in bedrooms for storing clothing and other items. For a Bridging family, a dresser is so much more. A dresser provides a family a great sense of dignity as items that were once stored in bags, boxes or on the floor, now have a permanent home.

Group Volunteer Opportunities at Your Workplace, School, Faith-Based Organization & in Community
The demand for donations continues to rise! Without adequate inventory on the shelves from the community we cannot help families in need. To serve over 75 households each week, we need 9 semi-loads of inventory donated.
Can your group host an Essentials Drive? We make it easy and fun for your team to make a BIG impact on a family! Complete the Volunteer Interest Form below to get started with a program tour, to pick your collection items and determine logistics. New and gently-used items are accepted.
Kitchen Essentials Pack: Can opener, mixing spoon, spatula and dish towel. We need over 75 sets per week to give each home a set.
Towels: All sizes and types wanted for the kitchen and bath.
Cookware and Bakeware: Stock pots, fry pans, skillets, etc. All sizes needed; especially medium and large.
Pillows: We need nearly 300 pillows per week to give a pillow per person.
