Reflections of a Hope-Filled 201912/27/2019 by Mark Wilkening
In the midst of the Holiday Season, I make it a goal to try to pause more often and reflect on all the amazing good that exists in our important work.
There are so many stories of gratitude and hope that Bridging is humbled to be a part of. These important stories (The Lives We Touch) inspire all of us to continue to strive to serve more, better.
Whether it is a young girl who is so very grateful for her first bed that she literally hugs it every night… or volunteer personal shopper teams who assist clients in selecting their items with joy and dignity… or the widower who is downsizing his living situation. I will always remember how he thanked us for the opportunity to gift their long-cherished furniture and household goods to those who are transitioning from homelessness.
As Founder Fran states, “When good people get together to do good things, then good things happen.” And because of you all, good things happen every day at Bridging.
One recent client, whom we were privileged to serve, shared her appreciation in a handwritten note regarding her family’s experience at Bridging:
“I wanna say a special ‘thank you’ for taking the time to help me when it was needed and also all the other people that you help… In a time of need, it really means a world of a difference to know that there really is people who care!”
Cheers to 2020!
